Patients who want to combat the unwanted signs of aging are welcome to book a consultation appointment with Dr. Cheryl Burgess of the Center for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery to discuss the endless possibilities with non-invasive injectables. One common solution for wrinkles and folds on the face is that of neuromodulators.

Neuromodulators include recognizable brands such as Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin®. All three of these work in the same manner but relaxing muscle contractions and therefore smoothing the upper layer of the skin—reducing and even eliminating the appearance of wrinkles and folds on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes. Dr. Cheryl Burgess finds that these are long-lasting options for individuals interested in turning back the hands of time without undergoing invasive surgeries such as plastic surgery face lifts.

Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin® are safe, FDA-approved injectables to use for cosmetic enhancement. They work great for crows feet, forehead folds and wrinkles between the eyebrows. Dr. Cheryl Burgess finds they last approximately six months or longer before reinjection is necessary to maintain the results. It is a wonderful way for patients to slow the signs of aging and turn back the hands of time without having risky procedures done. Facial enhancement is a common request for patients in the area who are interested in smoothing the skin, improving texture and feeling more confident about the way they look.

An appointment for Botox®, Dysport® or Xeomin® injections is fast, safe and easy. Dr. Cheryl Burgess consults with patients regarding what to expect from treatment. Specific areas are addressed and patients rest in the treatment chair while a very fine needle is used to administer the medication into the muscles of the face. Patients may experience some slight redness and tenderness at the injection site for the remainder of the day, but this is short-term and not considered a concerning “side effect.” Patients are advised to visit the practice again for more injections if they are interested in maintaining the appearance of the skin over time.

If you live in or around the area of Washington, DC or Annapolis, MD, contact the Center for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery today to book a consultation visit. We welcome men and women ready to make improvements on the way they look for personal enhancement and fulfillment. We want to make cosmetic solutions readily available to patients who are interested in addressing the unwanted signs of aging and maintain their attractive, youthful appearance.

The newest botulinum toxin at the Center for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery

The newest botulinum toxin at the Center for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery

Looking for a botulinum toxin that lasts longer? Try Daxxify, the only tested toxin that lasts a minimum of six months. Say goodbye to frequent injections. Watch this video now!

I’m Dr. Cheryl Burgess, Co-founder and owner of the Center for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery in Downtown Washington DC and a satellite office in Annapolis, MD.

What I’m talking about today is something new that is available to dermatologists. That is a botulinum toxin which is a little bit special than the other botulinum toxins out there.

Currently, there are 4; Botox, Xeomin, Jeuveau, and Dysport, and the new one is called Daxxify.

What is Daxxify?

Daxxify is the only one that has been tested, and I was a clinical investigator in this study, and it will last a minimum of six months.

Most of the other preparations depending on how long you’ve been getting them, injected can last three months to four months.

This preparation can last twice the duration of your typical botulinum toxin.

If you’re one who maybe doesn’t like to get stuck three or four times a year, this is a preparation that you would probably be interested in.”

How is it different from other botulinum toxins?

The benefits are you come to the doctor less often to get your injections.

Some of the side effects are the same as the other preparations of botulinum toxin.(Xeomin, Botox, Dysport and Jeuveau)
