Addressing the signs of aging can be done in a myriad of ways. For more severe concerns, Washington area patients may still need to consider plastic surgery. However, what options are available for those with mild to moderate signs of aging who are not appropriate candidates for plastic surgery? Are there methods of addressing fine lines and wrinkles without risky, expensive and invasive treatments? Thanks to continued advances in dermatology, Dr. Cheryl Burgess of the Center for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery can help. She is a board certified dermatologist in the Washington area who provides a number of special injectables meant to target specific areas of the face in an effective, affordable and less invasive way. For many patients, Juvederm may be the ideal treatment.
Juvederm is a dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid. This smooth gel can be injected directly into wrinkles and folds for almost immediate improvement. This injectable filler can provide smooth, natural results when injected by an experienced physician or a board certified dermatologist such as Dr. Cheryl Burgess of Washington. Juvederm is best for frown lines, marionette lines and smile lines and works well around the nose and mouth areas. Other injectables can be used on other areas of the face and can be combined with Juvederm. At the Center for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, we believe in providing patients with a wide selection of services to provide various methods of treating each issue and concern with care and special attention.
The Juvederm procedure is rather short. Once patients have determined Juvederm is appropriate for them, the skin is cleaned and the hyaluronic gel is administered directly into the specific wrinkles and folds of concern. Patients may experience some mild discomfort afterwards but this is minor and will often dissipate after a few hours of treatment.
Dr. Cheryl Burgess is a board certified dermatologist ready to assist new and existing patients with their aging concerns and can provide quality service for skin, hair, nails and body. If you believe Juvederm or any other injectable may help turn back the hands of time in a less invasive and affordable manner and want to learn more about them, our team can help.
